Do you believe in The Sunset Limited ?

How is it that what sounds like a terrible premise for a movie (two men at odds, alone in an apartment), once revealed as having originally been a play will intrigue me?  Well that's just what happened with the trailer for Cormack McCarthy's The Sunset Limited starring Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson.  Now I'm not going to say that after having watched the trailer it's not possible that this is the leaner, meaner (and certainly with a finer pedigree) version of The Bucket List.  But it's possible that two powerhouse performers and some really strong dialogue will make this a compelling ride.  Not to mention a premise which suggests that perhaps there's a little more than just two men in an apartment going on...

Have a look at the trailer and decide whether you'd like to give it a try.  It was released in February, though I've just caught up to it now.

  1. Just to clarify I am referring to the source material being of stronger pedigree, not the actors...although in a fight to the death I think that Tommy Lee and Samuel L. would kick Jack and Morgan's asses.

    They just fight dirtier.
